Writing a Report
Last week was such a blur. I can’t even remember all that was done. I am actually amazed by the fact we got so much done. I also feel bad because blogging got put on the back burner. We have been really trying make school priority. I am glad to say we have accomplished that last week. I hope to continue it this week. We will be wrapping up our first semester in the next two weeks. I can’t believe we are half-way through the school year. The children are all doing well. We have been focusing on writing reports the right way. We have discussed the steps of writing a proper report. The steps are
- Select a topic
- Research the topic (picking out books about the topic)
- Write bibliography cards
- Write preliminary outline
- Take notes
- Revise outline
- Write a rough draft
- Edit the rough draft
- Write the final copy
- Write the sources page
By following these steps the children have done wonderful reports. Ashleigh and Jason have written a reports about Napoleon. Kiani has written a report about the fall of communism.
