The Sneaky Chef

I recently brought the book “The Sneaky Chef”, by Missy Chase Lapine. I decided to buy this book not because my children are picky. They are not picky. They enjoy eating fruits and vegetables. There was parts in the book that I didn’t agree with. I didn’t like the idea of lying to my children, but I understand that some parents struggle with their children about eating. I had problems with my son because he had medical issues as a toddler. We established a rule a long time ago that they had to at least try one bite of their food. The children do have foods that they do not like, but it is not from a lack of trying. There is only one or two foods that they really do not like, but I don’t make an issue out of it. I also had issues with the fact that she uses common junk food and adds nutritional foods to it. I believe she is fooling her children to think junk food is good for them. So, why did I buy this book? I believe you can never get too much nutrition. I also don’t sneak around trying to hide vegetables. I find it hard to make a creamy rich sauce with chucks of vegetables in it. By adding a simply puree to sauces add extra nutritions. I also like the idea of adding nutritions to desserts. My children know that they desserts we eat at home at different from desserts outside of home. I would recommend this book for the purpose to learn the different purees and to learn how to add them to your family’s favorite meals. Final note the reason I choose this book over Jessica Seinfeld’s book because “The Sneaky Chef” has more details in explaining how to use the different purees and more recipes. It was also about $7.00 cheaper.
