Wow, I am Back!!

I can’t believe it has been two months since my last entry. We have been really busy. We just got back from an across country trip. We drove from Massachusetts to California. It was exciting and fun. We went to Mt. Rushmore, Big Country, USA, the Grand Canyon and San Diego. Each place had it owned adventure. At Mt. Rushmore, the children tried to figure out where the movie, National Treasure was filmed.

They think it was here.

It was very impressed.
I think the children favorite part was Bear Country, USA. It is a drive through park where the animals roam free. The bears, as well many other animals, walk right up to your car. It was totally amazing.

As you can see, the bears get really close.
The worse part of the trip is getting caught in a hail storm. We were so scared because there were tornado warning all around us. We had to stop twice. The first time, we stopped under an overpass because it was raining and hailing so hard we could not see anything in front of us. The second time, we were at a gas station and a park ranger warned everyone there, that there is a tornado warning in this area and it would safe, if we waited out the storm. We found out later that a tornado did touch down about 20 miles in the direction that we were going.
After we left Mt Rushmore and Bear Country, we headed to the Grand Canyon. This is where I discover that I was highly allergic to something there. I had to take an allergy pill for the first time. The funny part, my husband, who usually is the one with the allergies didn’t have any problems. Another funny thing happen, on the way to our hotel, we got lost. We enter the Grand Canyon on the east side but our hotel was on the south side. Using our GPS to get the hotel, it lead us down a dirt road. As we were trying to figure where to go, we saw the biggest deer ever.
Actually, it was an elk. They are huge! We saw three of them. I didn’t take any pictures of them. I got this one off the internet. Because at time, I was too worried about getting to the hotel and not being trap in the Grand Canyon all night. By the way, we did make it to the hotel and everyone was safe.

Our family at the Grand Canyon.
Then we were off to San Diego. My hubby and I grew up in San Diego. We have not been there in almost 10 years. We really had a wonderful time. I just wished we could have stay longer. We visited our old homes, Sea World, San Diego Zoo and a very special place for my hubby and I, the place where he proposed.

Our family and my brother’s family at the San Diego Zoo.

My hubby won this dolphin playing a basketball game at Sea World.
One of the best parts about Sea World, is being able to feed the animals. We had a wonderful time feeding the seals and the bat rays.

My favorite part of the whole trip is going back to the place where my wonderful husband proposed.

This is at La Jolla Shores, outside the cove, over looking seal beach.
