<p>After an expensive trip to Whole Foods Market, I am hoping our supply of groceries will last for a while.  I have been researching the internet trying to find healthy recipes for our menu this week. I believe I have. We will be doing things a little different this week by adding in snacks to our daily menu. The reason we are including snacks is because we are all learning portion control. By portioning out the snacks ahead, we won&#8217;t have a chance of over eating. We will be including two snacks. A smaller one in the morning and a larger one in the afternoon. Many of our meals are recipes that I have develop. I will tried to post them on the day I make them.</p>

Snack &#8211; Peanut Butter with Graham Crackers with a banana<br />
Lunch &#8211; Hot Dogs w/butter noodles, carrots and apple slices<br />
Snack &#8211; yogurt w/ blueberries syrup, trail mix and pepperoni slices with cream cheese<br />
Dinner &#8211; Fish Cakes w/brown rice and steamed broccoli</p>

Breakfast &#8211; Crepes w/sweet cream filling with berries<br />
Snack &#8211; apple slices, mini turkey cheese kabobs<br />

<p>Last week was really warm. Because it was so warm we did not follow our menu. Anything that required the use of the oven (like meatloaf) we didn&#8217;t eat. You will be see repeats again. Good news is because of the warm weather, we still have a lot of food. We used pre-made meals that can be warm in the mircowave  or on the stove-top. Pre-made meals are meals that I made in advance. (Like Spaghetti and Tacos.) Hopefully, we will be able to follow our menu this week.</p>

<p>After a wonderful vacation (will be posting pictures later on this week), it is time to get back into routine. We are preparing for the upcoming school year. Over the weekend,  I prepare a few meals in advanced. I hoping that with a new menu plan and organizing our household, life will run more smoothly.</p>

<p>We always have a fruit or vegetable at every meal even though I didn&#8217;t list it. Also, I wanted to thank everyone who posted these wonderful recipes on the web. It helped make menu planning a  lot easier.</p>

<p>A few months ago, I challenged myself to lower our grocery bill. But, that challenge has been a hard one to meet. I have also been trying to get my family to eat healthier. This challenge has actually been working very well for us. We have been eating more organic foods, and plenty of fruits and veggies. The only problem with eating healthier is the cost. Buying everything organic and eating lot of produce can be extremely costly in comparison to a more processed food diet. I have been spending 60-80 dollars a week in fresh produce alone. Is it possible to eat well and be frugal?</p>

Dinner &#8211; 2-Step chicken with rice and broccoli</p>
